I've been considering setting up a blog for a number of reasons. Some of them include
I use them a lot when I'm doing research for work
I was intrigued by the Pluralsight course by Scott Hanselmann and Rob Conery called Get Involved, which outlined the ways to contribute to the software development community. Starting a blog was one of them.
- I've also gone through John Sonmez's course called How to Market Yourself as a Software Developer who also recommended starting a blog.
I've recently switched jobs which also meant changing the technologies from Java/Oracle/Oracle Business Intelligence to building HTML5 applications using .NET.
The aim of the blog will be to keep a record of what I'm learning. One thing John Sonmez talks about is trying to find a niche. It's sound advice that I'll probably struggle with. I won't limit myself to just writing about technology if I can help it.
I'm looking forward to getting started.
